Tropicana Bakery and Cuban Cafe

Food was excellent as always. One of our favorite Cuban Restaurants. Food is tasty. Chicken and Onions is amazing. Staff courteous and helpful. Great bakery with a ton of great baked goods to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.

The food and pastries is always good here. Customer service is good too depending who is attending or serving you. I dont have any complaints.

I go here at least once a week. I love the breakfast and they have the best bacon prices in Los Angeles County and the bacon is Amazing. The staff is super friendly as well. They always seem to assist me when I forget to add my pastries to my dinner menu...lol. So I leave every time paying to tabs. Thanks Guys amazing service. The food comes pretty fast as well. I’ll send photos the next time I visit.

Simple Cuban food and pastries. What Porto’s used be in past. Parking and some long lines, but worth the wait.

Food is Delicious & Authentic, Pastries are Equally as tasty & the Shakes are WOW. Prices are fair some items should be lowered. Tropicana Has a Loyal following, Restaurant has a steady flow daily. Parking is challenging Employees are Friendly, Place is always Clean & Upbeat Music playing in the background. I Totally DISLIKE that the Bathroom is in the Middle of the Dining area 👎🏼🤮 I wish they would rearrange the entrance or build out a new one. This is absolutely gross and I know I am not the only one who thinks this way I have heard it amongst other customers but the employees and the food is so great we continue to come but are bothered with the bathroom situation.

Cheers to Tropicana for making a proper and very delicious Cubano! Been craving one for awhile now and up until now I couldn't find a good place for them. Everything in the sandwich was high quality and fresh... props for using real Swiss and not white American "cheese" as well!

This is my favorite Cuban cafe in Los Angeles, you guys will love it. So unique and amazing bread and desserts and food!

Wonderful bakery, excellent food for dinner and breakfast, try the Braised Ox Tail dinner or their version of Huevos Rancheros for breakfast, enjoy!

A great Cuna restaurant and it is not in the West side for a change!Beginning the year back to the Caribbean roots. Found this place and it looks legit. I can't see how it escaped me this long. Regardless I'm so exited to be here with my love. It is also a bakery that carries all the traditional Cuban sweets. Yum! The menu is traditional Cuban cafeteria fare along with a special for each day. Feel free to ask the staff if you're not familiar with Cuban food. The ambiance is relaxed and the place is quintessentially Caribbean. My first time but certainly not the last. Prices are reasonable even the paella (which I must try) is fairly prized let's see when I eat it.

Product is great but service sucks! Every time I decide to stop by I hope their service had improved but always the same, takes forever to get helped, personnel not the friendliest, don't see any smiles. They could be making so much more $$$$$, their product is delicious I think their guava and cheese truddles are better than Porto's.

This place is so good! There are lots of options, from take home breads and other baked goods, to salads, sandwiches, etc. The food is fantastic, but the ordering system is a little weird, since you wait in a line for someone to write down your order, then you wait for the cashier to call your name and you pay, separately. Parking in the back, which is a decent-sized lot, compared to what it looks like it'll be from the front. Lots of places to sit and eat inside, too.

Here’s to Ana who helped to make awesome recommendations for warm and cold desserts. My question to her, “ If this is my only time here, what would you recommend?” She recommended the tres leches dessert and coconut guava crumb pastry. On top of it all, the soupa for a sick family member really helped. Ana was kind to put a small bag of bread to help with keeping the soup down. Shout out to Ana! Thank U

This place is the best Cuban restaurant. They have fulfilled everything I have wanted since traveling to Cuba to visit family. Their options are endless and I really hope they open one in Arizona. Be patient, and wait for the food, it's worth it because it's made with love.

Love the Cuban Sandwiches but the pasteles de guava are delicious. Cant ho wrong if you like Cuban food very authentic.

The restaurant is nice and broad, the menu was delightful and the rates were very fair. fast, productive service and very friendly waiters. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food here is amazing. We had dinner and both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My wife had Cuban Fried Chicken w onions, rice and black beans. It was so tasty. We generally take half our meal home when out for dinner, not here...we ate everything. The fresh bread plate they provide melts in your mouth. Service was outstanding. Staff was helpful and courteous. Also, great bakery here...with plenty of fresh baked choices. We will definitely return again, the food here is to good. We have eaten at the other famous Cuban restaurant in Downey many time and the Tropicana Restaurant is hands down better.

The staff should be better prepared for large groups.Good food.

Better than...Porto's Bakery for now. Not cheap$ (some items are scrumptious)

This place is fantastic! Great food, great coffee. Outstanding Lechon for Christmas too! There's a reason it's constantly busy! Far less "sterile" experience than Porto's.

I like this place! They provide high class food, they have a rich menu, The chef in that place is very trained, I enjoy a lot eating all their dishes. The food is always good, the attitude towards the guests is nice. I often eat in this restaurant and I was never disappointed. Highly recommended.

Food is decent but you have to watch out for the bakery items some have been sitting around for a while. So if it doesn't look too fresh it probably isn't.

Absolutely hands down best place to enjoy an authentic Cuban meal! Great bakery selection as well. I love this place!

Place is good. The only thing when I called to ask a question the person she just answered the phone, then I was talking when she put me on hold without saying anything. To answer phone is horrible.

A great local favorite that's always busy. Lots of seating and parking in the rear. Staff is nice and helpful a d they have a big menu for both food and the bakery.

I loved my side boiled yucca topped with garlic sauce!! This was thee tastiest side I've ever had!! The white rice was delicious! Nicely salted I requested the beans on the side. You have the option to have it mixed with the rice.Others had the side of fried yucca and the another had sweet plantains which they devoured..

My favorite pastries are the guava and cream cheese. I drive from riverside county to pick up my pastries that's how good they are ❤ them. Absolutely worth the drive.☕🍰🎂🥐🍞

I had the Florentina Ind. once at a party and it was amazing! You definitely do not need a sharp knife to cut it, it was like cutting nothing. It deserves more than 5 stars from the quality of the fruit to the basket it sits on. There was no part of the cake left everyone was coming back to try and get what crumbs were left. If this is what they can do with this cake, I can imagine there not being a bad thing on that menu.

Ropa vieja sanguich was excellent, also the little almond bread biscottis are great with coffee

I liked the food and the pastries and bread are delicious, the only thing is we order chocolate to drink and they didn't have then we ask for a orange juice and either they have....it was disappointed that they don't have all the food , also you can't pay with card, they said you can but when you try to pay they said their terminal doesn't work. I think those little details change the whole experience.

Good authentic food I will have to go back for the desserts line was out the door.
